Evolution of EU Cohesion Policy in years 2014-2020

Summary/Abstract: There are intensive discussions around the role of cohesion policy in the next, seven-year programming period in the forum of European Union. Submitted postulates indicate the need for placing the discussed problem of the Community involvement against a wide range of sectoral strategies (fragmentation, and occasionally, re-nationalization are considered) as well as increasing the effectiveness of interventions by the EU. In this context, it is extremely important, according to Green Paper on Territorial Cohesion, to balance economic, social and territorial dimension of European integration, while taking into account the current macroeconomic and political context, as presented in the Barca Report.
