Summary/Abstract: n this article, the theatrical vision stated in the remarks of dramatic texts by Vydūnas is reconstructed. Nearly four decades Vydūnas, together with amateur actors from Tilsit Chanters Society, staged his dramas and created a very distinctive theatrical language. The theatrical vision of Vydūnas is reconstructed through putting the links between dramatic text (subject, dramatic situations, language of personages), visual expression (scenography, stage illumination, costume, properties) and acoustic expression (music, dynamics of talking and other sounds) of the idea into both concrete and systematic way. In this article, the conclusion is drawn that the theatrical vision of Vydūnas was very close to the experiments in European theatres at the beginning of the 20th century; in the context of Lithuanian theatre of the time, Vydūnas’ theatrical investigations are exclusive because of the innovative synthesis of equal elements of performance such as language, scenography, music, and stage motion (choreography).
