Fan Status in 2013 Croatia – Serbia Football Matches

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an anthropological analysis of football matches between Croatia and Serbia which were part of FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifiers in Zagreb and Belgrade. The research whose main topic is the status of fans in contemporary football used an anthropological approach. The ethnographic account, focused on various expressions of fan culture, represents first the game in Zagreb, and after that the one in Belgrade. On the basis of the fieldwork materials the last part of the paper analyses the status of fans in modern football.
