Summary/Abstract: The present article tries to highlight the importance of the Romanian Constitution of 1991, as it postulates the adoption of a bicameral parliamentary structure and the devotion of the notion of “parliament” for the first time in the taxonomy of Romanian Constitutions. After reiterating the historical context and the panoply of characteristics of the Constitution, the author aims at exploring its implications and benefits for the Parliament, described as the highest representative body and the sole legislative authority in the country.
