Summary/Abstract: In this article the analysis of 142 enterprises from the list of ”Forbes Diamonds” (Feb. 2011) has been conducted. Factor analysis of the four variables considered as measures of success revealed that the major determinant of value is income. In turn, the increase in value above average does not depend on the extent of activity. Practical guideline for managers, which results from the article, is that they should recognize the base of income creation of their enterprises. Two model types of enterprise in view of income creation have been distinguished: enterprise generating income mainly on tangible and intangible resources.
