Summary/Abstract: In the article the author presents the results of theoretical findings. Characteristics of the controlling concept, definitions by various authors dealing with controlling, as well as the assessment of findings in the German-speaking area are the fundamental problem that are described in the text. The article presents various ideas and opinions of many authors who examine the fundamental problem of importance of controlling in business management.
