Summary/Abstract: By signing the individual Stabilization and Association Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, have committed to harmonize their legislation with the European Union law. Directive on package travel, package holidays and package tours, adopted on 13 June 1990, represents part of the acquis communautaire, and thus establishes the obligation of those countries for its proper implementation in national legal systems. This paper will provide analysis of the implementation of the Directive and comparison of national solutions, with suggestions for improving the existing provisions, that protect the users of the package. With proper implementation of the Directive, these states respond, more or less successfully, to challenges that Member States are continuously facing. Since it is primarily regulated by Consumer Law directives, it suffers criticism because of its fragmentation and inconsistence, which questions the uniform protection for consumers on EU level. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the implementation of the Directive with particular attention, and this paper will attempt to answer the question how succesufull it was, at least when it comes to countries listed.
