Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Social Works

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to describe the essence of social works as a new practical and theoretical phenomenon in Bulgaria. There are many issues related to its subject matter, scope, scientific importance, models of practical implementation, etc. The first part of the paper defines the subject matter of the social works as the grounds for its recognition as a separate scientific field. The interdisciplinary character is described in terms of the common fields of the sociology and the social works. The second part of the paper defines the common and the specific characteristics of the social works as a specific type of social activity within the society and reviews some of the most widely used models of implementation of social works. The third part of the paper reviews the essence and type of social works technologies.
