THE EXPERIENCE OF GOD AS „BEAUTY” IN SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI

Summary/Abstract: This short study has been devoted to the spiritual experience of Saint Francis, analyzing this from the aesthetic side of his language, so sublime in his writings. To facilitate reflection, the article was written according to the following methodological plan: it starts with a description of the experience of "beauty" which refers to God, in which the "beauty" of the Almighty is contemplated in itself, that is in God, then the person of Jesus is considered. Jesus "is the most beautiful among the sons of men "(Ps 44.2). Further, the plan includes the figure of Mary the Virgin, in whom the" beauty "of the Triune God shines. Finally the “beauty” reaches everyone (St Francis experienced the beauty of God, the Good Creator, the beauty of poor and humble Jesus Christ , and the beauty of the Holy Spirit enriching him with his gifts), and all creation.
