Summary/Abstract: The paper does a statistical analysis of the influence of two crucial components of human capital – education and health – on economic growth in OECD countries from 1992 to 2007. The analysis was based on the production function derived from Mankiw, Romer and Wiel’s neoclassical growth model [1992]. The calculation was conducted based on least squares and fixed effects methods. The results show that, while perhaps to a lesser extent than physical capital, human capital has a positive impact on economic growth in OECD countries. It is also shown that education supports per capita GDP growth to a greater extent than improving the condition of health.
