Summary/Abstract: Juozas Skirius’ teaching aid “Introduction to History Studies. Part 1” (published in 2010) was reviewed by R. Juzefovičius. The reviewer states that this teaching book is a useful aid for the first year students of History Faculty, who have, as an obligatory subject, introduction to history studies. The aim of this course, according to the author, is to help students to adapt to their studies, timely and clearly characterizing their future teaching profession, highlighting its specific features, social value, difficulties and benefits of the studies as well as the prospects of their future career. As this is the teaching and educational course, the teaching book presents the main information relevant to those who entered the field of history. The relevance of the book lies in the fact that our country still lacks modern university level theoretical and methodological literature, appropriate for the development of students’ independent study skills
