Summary/Abstract: Waldemar Cwenarski died fifty years ago. The important anniversary of his death was ignored by the majority of art critics and curators. Barbara Baworowska prepared a catalogue of his work, but she didn’t find a publisher in Wroclaw. In April, “Słowo Polskie” published her article on Cwenarski which was entitled “John Christopher of Enchanted Soul” It was the only significant text on that important artist. The National Museum in Wroclaw has a collection of Cwenarski’s work. Couldn’t they organise an exhibition? Mariusz Hermansdorfer, the director of the Museum, only discussed some aspects of Cwenarski’s work. I believe that we should re-discover Cwenarski and we should start extensive research on his biography.
