The degree of public regulation and the standard of living

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an overview of basic approaches to the measurement of standard of living and public regulation. It also presents the results of analysis of statistical correlation between Human Development Index (HDI) and Index of Economic Freedom (IEF) and its components. The research is based on 164 countries and the data comes form 2010. The aim of the paper is to analyse whether there is a statistical correlation between the degree of public regulation and standard of living. The methods used in the paper are statistical description and comparative analysis.
