Summary/Abstract: Traditionally we relate magical realism to Latin-American literatures, but we can say that this category exists worldwide. Portugal is not an exception. In this article, we will study the works of José Saramago and João de Melo and their proposals to name magical realism as “real sobrenatural” and “etno-fantástico”.
