Summary/Abstract: Some mechanisms of language creation are here observed, which are related to the systematic processes of selection and combination and the relationship between signs in the language chain. Conditions of occurrence and contexts arouse “serial” connections between words, showing a mutual influence between signifiants et signifiés in the construction of meanings. The mechanisms of word formation may define the role of the paradigmatic and sintagmatic relations in language within the limitation of arbitrariness. The theoretical horizon is the metalinguistic notion of “scritture brevi” (short writings) as defined in Chiusaroli&Zanzotto 2012 (https://sites.google.com/site/scritturebrevi/).
