Summary/Abstract: This article is intended to present the endurance – by means of faith – of the Catholics in Moldavia, where the new ideology was already present in some of the communities around Roman: Săbăoani, Gherăeşti, Butea. At the end of the 19th century, the harshest opposition against socialism was the one manifested by Caetan Liverotti, rector of Săbăoani, who, after numerous controversies with the socialists, succeeded in convincing the majority of the parishioners that the new ideology could not be embraced by true Christians, as such ideology made no room for God. Due to the pastoral dedication of the Catholic priests of the Diocese of Iassy, as well as to the wisdom of the parishioners, socialism failed to leave a mark on the communities of Moldavia.
