Summary/Abstract: The article studies determinants of development of the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) in the XXI century. The author discusses the economical position of the SSA countries, determinants of their development such as: demography, FDI, natural resources, institutional factors. The last part concerns barriers to development of SSA.
