COMPLEMENTS OF MODAL AND PHASE VERBS IN BOSNIAK FOLK LITERATURE

Summary/Abstract: In this paper we will present examples of infinitive distribution and present tense with “da” serving as complements to modal and phase verbs in Bosniak folk literature. We will especially focus on the frequency of usage of both forms in epic folk poem, epic-lyric song, “sevdalinka” and in oral stories. The examples included here are examples of some verbs serving as complements to modal and phase verbs which have not been recorded in the relevant literature.
