Summary/Abstract: The author, following Bellah's thesis, analysis relations between national ideology and phenomena oj civil sacral and popular religiousness. The author takes the example of the contemporary social situation in Slovenija pointing out that the present "official" Slovenian national ideology is radically areligious, namely it has been influenced by a powerful process of secuarization. The notion of "civil religion" is taken by the author with extreme suspicion and therefore his analysis are reduced to hypothesia and ilustrative examples, since there are no enough empirical facts on this issue. The necessity of recognizing the differences between sacral, civil and popular religiousness as parallel forms of historic religion in the analysis of relations of national ideology and religious consciousness is pointed out by the author.
