In Memory of the Present One

Summary/Abstract: This study aims at analysing the concluding chapters of the canonical gospels, in particular Jn 20-21. The present author is fully aware that these passages cannot be regarded by themselves as a hermeneutical key to the gospels, they are extremely important, however, if one wants to understand the fundamental paradox that constitutes the gospel-genre. Remembering the life - death - resurrection of Jesus the canonical gospels celebrate him as the Lord who is present in his Church.
