Summary/Abstract: Dějiny nové moderny (History of New Modern Art, Papoušek V. et al.) is ambitious editorial project working with relatively mechanical scheme of construct, on principle refusing chronology and linearity. This monumental text offers one of possible versions of intepretation of certain epoch only, i. e. history of a little less than twenty years on the beginning of 20th century. Even though the book in details offers a number of impulses, interesting formulations and observations, it is not a „history“ in right meaning of this term. The book is neither a summary of the epoch, nor a description of development of art – it brings individual probes of some mechanically choosen years only. In general the book has a nature of open research of a big theme in the field of history of literature.
