Summary/Abstract: The object of this review is to answer the question about the form of literary historical writing represented by the book Dějiny nové moderny by V. Paušek et al. I asked myself whether it is a collection of individual partial studies devoted to a certain period, or a collection of contributions giving a more compact of a chosen period, in other words - literary-historical synthesis. The publication is closer to the first option.
