Summary/Abstract: Consideration is given to novel Ján Rozner Sedem dní do pohrebu. It describes the novel and the his approach to literature. Rozner‘s text is understood as a testimony to the author about his own life in times of crisis the death of his wife. Current social and political situation shows through purely individual perspective on events. Writing text perceives as part of the author‘s self-discovery. Th e starting point for the author‘s approach to literature is asking for their own place in life and individual experience of events. Towards the sphere of big ideas are then defined only hen these big ideas insistently come into the hero of everyday life and threaten him.
