Summary/Abstract: Given the fact that evolution has occurred in the European integration process, by passing on the idea of unitary integration of the member states to accept the idea of differentiation in Member States' commitments in the EU, the paper analyzes the enhanced cooperation as a means of differentiation in the EU legal order. The paper explores the legal regime for enhanced cooperation currently existing in the European Union and, in particular, perspectives of using this tool as a solution to overcome the impasse and deepening European integration in the current political context.
