Summary/Abstract: Film studies should give way to media studies in the academic work with artifacts of the film industry. In so far as media studies, similar to film studies is a discipline in the academic sphere of art studies, it would not neglect its occupation with films as art but will consider them also as means of mass communication. And this to a greater extent will situate films in the realities of the modern audiovisual media world.
