Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is the analysis of trends estimation of gross expenditure on research and development in gross domestic product by the following sources of funds: the business enterprise sector, the government sector, the higher education sector, the private nonprofit sector and the abroad sector. The research covered Poland and the group of the EU15 and the EU28 countries in the period 1995-2010.
