Summary/Abstract: Globalization is a spatial phenomenon because it produces changes not only in the overall global economy, but also in the area of the region which becomes an immanent element of economic processes. States and regions seek to neutralize threats from external or internal conditions, i.e. they seek national security, including economic security. The economic security itself is one of the conditions for the development of the country and its regions. It depends, to a large extent, on identifying the determinants affecting the effectiveness of its shaping. The purpose of this article is to outline the concept of economic security and selected variables based on the example of the Lower Silesian Voivodship.
