Summary/Abstract: This paper intends to discuss Richard Rorty’s interpretation of Martin Heidegger and their common ground – the reaction against Platonism. The first part is focused on Heidegger’s Being and Time, in order to show how does Heidegger react against the Western metaphysical tradition. The second part evolves around Rorty’s interpretation of Heidegger as a pragmatist. But before getting to work, I shall discuss Rorty’s style of doing philosophy and thus, implicitly, the anti-Platonism he shares with the tradition coming from Hegel through Nietzsche to Heidegger.
