Latin American Independence(s) in cinema

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to focalize on those movies that deal with the Latin-American war of independence and on the evolution of the region’s cinema. We’ll lay emphasis on the most relevant titles, tendencies and questiones in order to demonstrate that their cinema has always provided a multi-coloured image of itself and we’ll enlarge upon the notion of “Independence”, both from the point of view of national history and cinematography.
