Summary/Abstract: The last article is by Cvetana Pavlovska - "Stefan Stambolov on the eve of the liberation". The author asserts that the personality of Stefan Stambolov is negatively estimated by modern historiography due to his course of action at the time of the April Uprising and his refusal to participate in the Bulgarian militia during the Russian-Turkish War 1877-1878. However, she reckons that a unprejudiced overview of the remaining documents can be made in order to show not only his compassion with liberation process and especially with the Russian-Turkish War, but also his great activity. Pavlovska analyzes various materials Stambolov wrote in the newspaper "Nova Bulgaria", particularly after he became his editor, and emphasizes on the fact that on the eve of liberation he is on a clear revolutionary position.
