Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an assessment of structural changes in agriculture of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship during Poland’s full membership in the EU. The analysis was limited mainly to the structures which determined the production functions of agriculture without neglecting its non-productive functions, which should take advantage of the specificity of the region. Therefore, the paper refers to the changes associated with the development of organic farming and agro-tourism, which undoubtedly fit in multifunctional and sustainable development of valuable rural areas of the region. The analysis showed that changes of the last decade had proven to be insufficient to improve the competitiveness of agriculture in the region. A considerable progress has been made in relation to the development of the non-productive functions of agriculture of Podkarpacie − organic farming and agro-tourism.
