Slovakia and a Discussion on the Future of the European Union

Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to review and analyze the Slovak political visions and attitudes towards the future of the European Union, its system of institutions and its decision-making mechanisms. The author shows that even though the Slovak discussion on these issues has been institutionalized, the country still is seeking differentiated concepts on the reform of the EU. The paper analyzes the development of the Slovak discussion on Slovak conceptions and contributions to the future of the European Union in the time period from the end of 1990s to March 2002.
