Summary/Abstract: András Petőcz represents the middle generation of contemporary Hungarian poetry. His 2001 volume was created under the sign of narration, most of his poems were inspired by the poet’s experiences in America. The statement of the study is that the formation of life-history into the history of fate is what lies behind the poems: “those who want to learn something about America from the book will be disappointed”.
