The German Population in the Czech Lands after the year 1945 (The Czech Historiography in the last decade and the international context)

Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts to summarize and evaluate the state of research of the history of German inhabitants of Czech lands after 1945, both results of Czech historiography in the past decade and outcomes of the work on this topic and topic of forced migrations of foreign scholars, especially in our neighboring countries. The article briefly describes major fields of interest in this theme and outlines trends of possible future research. The survey does not claim itself to be complete (it follows the historiographical production of the topic from the beginning of 1990s until 2003/2004) and focuses mainly on major trends of research.
