The State of Philosophy in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is, firstly, to undertake the analysis of the current opinion concerning the allegedly derivative character and the lack of originality of Polish philosophy, based on the analysis of the eight Polish philosophical stances, those of Twardowski, Fleck, Kotarbiński, Bańka, Zachariasz, Skolimowski, Amsterdamski and Jodkowski, aimed at the demonstration of its falsehood; and, secondly, the paper is aimed at showing a certain feature, namely polemicity, that disappears in modern Polish philosophy, along with giving possible causes of this state of affairs.
