The Orion Constellation in Folk Tradition

Summary/Abstract: A comparative ethno-astronomical analysis has been made of published materials about the Orion Constellation in Bulgarian traditional culture. The conclusion has been confirmed about the influence of farming practice on the traditional astronomical knowledge and conceptions associated with that constellation. The objective astronomical grounding of that has also been indicated, viz. the visibility of the Orion constellation in certain seasons.
