Summary/Abstract: The paper elaborates the customs related to death such as: looking after the deceased before he/she is put into a coffin, the customs at home and at the cemetery, the burial as the final farewell to children, young and old people, the mourning clothes and the funeral feast. Death is connected to various beliefs regarding the afterlife of the deceased.
