Croatia and Europe 1789-1848: European or National Integration?

Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the problem formulated in the subtitle: 'European or national integration?' This concerns the various levels of integration of European society, but also of the various rhythms of change in Europe, drawing attention to phenomena which speak of the simultaneous non-simultaneity in the European area of that period. I will observe the period from the end of the eighteenth century to the first half of the nineteenth century as the period on the boundary of the old system out of which the new era emerged.
