Study of Croatian language at higher education institutions, with special emphasis on Waterloo University

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the processes of the foundation of Croatian Studies in Canada. Waterloo University played an exceptionally significant role in the development and promotion of the Croatian language and the preservation of national identity in the multicultural Canadian community. The author highlights the special importance of the organization of online Croatian language courses as well as auditive materials which greatly facilitate the challenging instruction of the Croatian language in Canada.
