Summary/Abstract: The complex nature of the security environment after the end of the Cold War has meant that the most active members of the global security community must adapt to the new threats by reshaping their peacebuilding strategy. Thus, by naming the post-conflict reconstruction and stabilization operations as a main point on the security agenda a fresh approach in crisis management was developed by the most important security institutions: the UN and NATO. The comparative analysis of the two international bodies and the emphasis on the necessity of their collaboration in a productive partnership determined by the complementary resources and mutually reinforcing strengths revealed the importance of the strategic partnership between the United Nations and NATO.
