The intention was to articulate a highly advanced, flexible, deployable, interoperable and self-sustainable structure. The NRF includes land, air, maritime and special operation forces components, ready to intervene wherever the alliance interests require. In these ten years of existence, its composition and combat use have undergone successive transformation in accordance with the evolution of security environment and declared priorities.
