Summary/Abstract: This article dwells on the following issue: are there transworld individuals or not? Which is the outcome of confronting our common belief in transworld individuals with the perplexities given by the 'Transworld Identity Problem' (TIP)? It turns out there are at least three standpoints: 1. TIP is thought to be meaninful and settled by using individual essences as transworld identification criteria. 2. TIP is evaded by giving up the very thesis that causes it and endorsing 'the theory of worldbound individuals'. 3. TIP is deemed to be a false problem originating in the deceptive pictures we have about possible worlds. The arguments S. Kripke and A. Plantinga gave seem to be decisive here. Following Plantinga, we shall conclude that accepting transworld individuals is in fact not problematical at all. Besides, the opposite thesis presents 'great metaphysical inadequacies'.
