The initiative of Polish system for the classification of audiovisual programs

Summary/Abstract: The author discusses the legal and social initiatives related to the protection of minors recipients in Europe and Poland, including civic initiative to promote the law on the prohibition of violence in the media and the polish system of classification of audiovisual media (2001 - 2007). He analyses key assumptions and problems with the draft of the law. He points out the the need for a wider programme of media education, which may be part of the proposed system and the legal solutions.
