Summary/Abstract: Computer piracy is defined as breaking the copyright, illegal copying or using somebody’s property or both at the same time without the payment and the author’s, the producer’s or the official distributor’s permission. This phenomenon is one of the “leading offences” in contemporary, modern society that is often called information society (computing society). Limiting the definition of the computer piracy to only breaking the law, is undoubtedly superficial since it, also appears to be an important moral problem. Moral theology claims that breaking the valid law, lie and theft are all evil actions while computer piracy contains certain elements of each of them.
