Future Perspectives and Attitude Toward Education for Visually Impaired Persons

Summary/Abstract: This paper is the result of a research that investigate how the accessibility of higher education is perceived by people with visual impairments and without disabilities. The first chapter introduces the reader to the main topic of this research. The next chapter include the research approach and results. The research investigate two groups of students, with visual impairments and without disabilityes. The starting point was the premises that students with visual impairments do not experience major difficulties in terms of attitude towards them, as well as information and physical access in Cluj Universityes. The research tools are two interview guides and a Likert questionnaire that includes ordinal level questions. I used three groups of subjects: 30 students with visual impairments, 30 students without disabilities and also one hundred students without disabilities from wich are identified some attitudinal differences. Generaly, there aren’t major difficulties identified in the accessibility of the higher education and positive attitudes marks the behavior toward people with visual impairments. With few exceptions, students with visual impairments do not faces big problems and atitudinal bariers in their university acces. The nature of this fenomenological research has it epistemiological limits requiring a more depth and extended analysis.
