Summary/Abstract: The article reveals the legal nature of the contract for boat charting for a specific period, known as Time-charter. The definition of the legal features of the said charter is outlined by means of a comparative-legal study of the Time-charter and the Regular charter. In this connection, the stress is on the independent character of the Time-charter. A suggestion towards the formulation of "de lege ferenda", tries to elaborate its legal disposition.
