Summary/Abstract: The author presents Étienne Gilson’s conception of the “Western Creed,” which is an essential component of the identity of the Western civilization. With analyzing Gil-son’s thought, the author claims that the philosophy of XXI century is to protect the Western Creed against such cultural threats as epistemological skepticism, naturalism, animalism, and moral ahumanism.
