Summary/Abstract: After World War II, Turkey has taken action to systematize understanding of multi-party system. In this sense, different parties were established. Democrat Party, one of those, which was established by Republican People’s Party’s old members, comes to power in 1950. The press had come to the fore at the period of Democrats which ruled the country for ten years. Some newspapers adopted a pro Democrat Party broadcasting policy. Havadis was in the group too. However it was become some changing in the broadcasting policy after military coup to be performed on 27 May 1960, and it was left the concept of broadcasting which supported to the Democrat Party. Sometimes the newspaper shared these justifications with the readers. In this study, Havadis which a pro Democrat Party newspaper that given the political atmosphere in the country prior to 27 May 1960 with publication its after intervention was followed on the subject policy will be examined broadcasting policy. Overview of the newspaper’s events after “pre- intervention”, “after intervention” and “prosecution process” will be handle the subject in three parts.
