Summary/Abstract: After the conquest of Bosnia: Ottoman rulers divided Bosnian Sanjak into large Vilayets. One of them was Vilayet Pavli which, according to the register of 1469, encompasscd the following nahiyas: Višegrad, Dobrun, Hrtar, Brodar, Borač, Prača, Studena or Krunenska, Volujak, Glasinac, Pale and Olovo. The present paper explored the expansion of Islam in the Vilayet Pavli during the end of the 15th c., the l 16th c. , and the beginning of the 17th century, on the basis of Tapu Tahrir Defters (Cadastral registers) of the years 1489, 1516, 1540 and 1604.
