Role of ecological knowledge in proactive business development

Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the global proactive approach of company management to environmental issues. It addresses issues of ecological knowledge, which is the beginning of eco-innovation within an organization. Proactive development and environment related strategies accumulating knowledge in the process of internationalization of enterprises have been specified. The paper presents an analysis of the role of ecological knowledge in the development of companies on the basis of studies carried out in 2010-2011 within the project of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development called “Patterns of sustainable production in business operations — proposal for system solutions supporting patterns of sustainable production in SMEs”.
